Archaeology Field School Description
From the Santa Barbara to Big Sur, the Los Padres National Forest includes some of the most spectacular scenery and fascinating archaeology in North America. Join Forest Archaeologist Loreen Lomax and her staff for a four-week applied archaeology field school. The LPNF/CSUDH field school is designed for the beginning archaeologist who wants to explore a future career in cultural resource management and preservation. The field school will include archaeological surveys of prehistoric and historic sites, subsurface testing, artifact processing and analysis, workshops on heritage management and the challenges of preserving America’s past. University Credit: 6 semester units of upper division Anthropology credit; transferable.)
