Field School OverviewProject DirectorsProf. Yosef GarfinkelInstitute of Archaeology Hebrew University of Jerusalem Jerusalem, 91905 Israel Field School DescriptionTel Tsaf is a 5th millennium BC settlement, of the Middle Chalcolithic period. So far two seasons took plase, in 2004 and 2005. The finds includes massive brick architecture, 6 rounded silos, water well, pottery. flint, limestone and basalt vessels, beads, obsidian, animal figurines and anthropomorphic (mathert goddess) figurines.We are working 5 days a week, Mondays-Fridays. The staff includes 5-6 archaeology students from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In addition 15 first-year students of the Hebrew University will attend the excavations for the first three weeks. The program includes lectures (twich a week) and tours to archaeological sites near-by. 3 or 6 credits can be obtined from the Hebrew University Rothberg school of oversea students.
